To identify DNA methylation features (CpGs and regions) associated with fetal sex, a mega-analysis of 532 full term pregnant samples selected from 14 publicly available placenta DNA methylation (DNAm) microarray datasets was conducted. Datasets synthesised from trimesters samples were further examined for features persistance throughout the gestational period. Enriched pathways of keratinization, chemokine activity, and eosinophil and 9 DMRs were identified from differential DNA methylation profiles associated with fetal sex-specific placenta.
