Normative changes, socio-legal shifts: analyzing the efficacy of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights

Abstract This article aims to analyse the development of Legislative Change into a reparation measure, taking into consideration its use by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. The study will propose a categorization of decisions based on the legal questions raised by the Court’s orders for legislative change. Subsequently, it will examine the effects of each such order upon the domestic legal system with the purpose of assessing the efficacy of this reparatory measure.
