scRNA-seq analysis of mouse utricular sensory epithelium at embryonic day 14 and postnatal day 2

To determine the BMP4 expression levels during inner ear development, we performed a single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) analysis of mouse utricular sensory epithelium at embryonic day 14 (E14) and postnatal day 2 (P2). Overall design: Utricles were harvested from E14 and P2 mice, followed by the careful mechanical removal of the otolithic membranes. Subsequently, the tissues were incubated with thermolysin to facilitate the detachment of the sensory epithelium.
