The goal of the project is to study the effect of intermittent starvation on the ability of enriched microbial community (hydrogenotrophic) to produce methane from carbon dioxide and hydrogen. Six (treated and controlled) bioreactors were operated in parallel, and samples were collected over time, during the stabilization, starvation and recovery phases to assess the dynamics of the microbial community during each phase over time.
