Unemployment Insurance State Weekly Claims

UPDATES TO THESE DATA LAG PUBLICATION BY NO LESS THAN 30 MINUTES AND ARE OFFERED AS AN ADDITIONAL MODE OF ACCESS-- Unemployment Insurance (UI) claims data contained on the ETA 539 report are used in current economic analysis of unemployment trends in the Nation, and in each state. Initial claims measure emerging unemployment and continued weeks claimed measure the number of the insured unemployed. These data are published in ETA´s weekly release "Unemployment Insurance Claims." The comments on claims activity are used to explain the changes in the levels of the data reported from week to week.
