MGS_Coastal_Barrier_Resources_System

This dataset displays the Coastal Barrier Resources System areas defined by Maine statute (Title 38, Chapter 21, §1901-1905) that are in addition to the CBRS areas in Maine defined by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The Coastal Barrier Resources Act (CBRA) of 1982 and subsequent amendments established the John H. Chafee Coastal Barrier Resources System (CBRS). The CBRS consists of relatively undeveloped coastal barriers and other areas located the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, Great Lakes, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico coasts.
