A machine for making sheets based on plant debris such as reconstituted tea is described. The machine comprises a pressing unit 11 that extracts water from the sheet only under the influence of the pressing action exerted by the pressing unit 11 formed by a shoe press. Also described is a method of manufacturing a sheet based on plant residues comprising the step of providing such a machine. A machine for producing a sheet based on plant debris， such as reconstituted tobacco or reconstituted tea， is described. The machine comprises a pressing unit (11) extracting the water from the sheet solely under the effect of a pressing action applied by the pressing unit (11)， which is formed of a shoe press. A process for producing a sheet based on plant debris， comprising a step of providing such a machine， is also described. A machine for producing a sheet based on plant debris， such as reconstituted tobacco or reconstituted tea， is described.
