The GABA Quantification Benchmarking Dataset is a curated dataset developed by institutions including Swansea University, designed to assess the performance of GABA quantification tools via a set of calibrated phantom experiments. The dataset encompasses four series of experiments, each tailored to distinct background metabolites and environmental conditions to enhance the complexity of the acquired spectra. Experimental designs span from simple aqueous solutions to gel phantoms that simulate in vivo MRS spectra, alongside series of solutions with non-neutral pH values. The primary objectives of this dataset are to provide standardized data for benchmarking newly developed quantification tools, as well as to support the optimization of existing analytical tools. With applications spanning neuroscience and metabolic research, this dataset aims to resolve the method-dependent challenges encountered during the data analysis of GABA-edited MRS.
