NRS-4026 | Returns of age-grade distributions for state schools

This series consists of various statistical compilations providing a breakdown of school children by class, sex and age. They are arranged by school within educational districts and also include general summaries for the City and country. There is some unevenness in the series: in the period 1925-31 there are only general summaries; 1932-47 there are no statistics; 1956-59 there are statistics for primary and secondary schools. Before 1956 returns are for primary schools only. For the years 1970-71 and 1976-86 the front of the form provided a space for the religious denomination of pupils to be entered. For the years 1972-75 the primary school forms provided spaces for the number of pre-school students enrolled and the number of children aged 5 or more on the waiting list, but not enrolled. 1925-68, (X907-22, 8/2167A-2177C), 1967-69 (10/31597-602), 1970-86 (12/14143.2-14178). 81 boxes (part).
