资源简介:
The Cardiac Toxicity Substudy (PH205) enrolled 158 participants who completed an echocardiogram ~10 years ago while participating in the PHACS Adolescent Master Protocol (AMP) and who were later enrolled in the PHACS AMP Up study (for participants 18 years of age and older). Participants had a follow up echocardiogram, measurement of aortic pulse wave velocity (PWV), and samples obtained for measurement of cardiac and inflammatory biomarkers and mitochondrial parameters. The primary outcomes were changes in cardiac function and structure as reflected by differences in key echocardiogram z-scores (for ejection fraction, left ventricular (LV) mass and volume, end diastolic dimension, etc). At the most recent echocardiogram, the data collected included echocardiogram measures, pulse wave velocity (PWV), cardiac and inflammatory biomarkers, and mitochondrial parameters. Measures of HIV infection status (PHIV or PHEU) and HIV disease status nearest the echo are also included. Similar measures were collected at the earlier echocardiogram, with the exception of PWV and mitochondrial parameters, which were not obtained at the earlier timepoint. The PHACS Cardiac Toxicity Substudy was supported by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute through grant R01HL137558 and by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health & Human Development and other NIH institutes by grant P01HD103133 for the Pediatric HIV/AIDS Cohort Study (PHACS) network.
