We have conducted an integrative analysis of bulk and single-cell RNA-seq data in human dermal papilla. The aim of the integrative analysis is to reduce false positives by combining two different computational analyses against bulk and single-cell RNA-seq data. The bulk RNA-seq data were obtained from co-cultured human dermal papilla cells and with a lactic acid bacteria strain. We have identified differentially expressed genes through comparative analysis of co-cultured and control cell samples. The single-cell RNA-seq data were obtained from patients with alopecia areata. We have examined the pathways of hair loss-related genes with cell-cell communication analysis. By combining the results of those analyses, we have revealed key genes related to hair growth and loss mechanisms in dermal papilla.
