RNA seq data set for "Maternal milk-derived lipids dictate neonatal macrophage phenotype and function"

RNA-seq analysis on isolated neonatal and adult peritoneal macrophages shows neonatal macrophages enriched for the tumor associated macrophage gene set and negative association with antigen processing and presentation and phagocytosis gene sets. Moreover, after being in vitro incubated with neonatal serum, adult macrophages were converted into the neonatal phenotype, and this conversion was dependent on the acquisition of lipids from neonatal serum. Consistently, feeding adult mice with whole milk not only increased in serum lipid content but also converted their macrophages into the TAM-like phenotype.
