Farther right, a flat-roofed building with multiple stories features the sign "State Theatre". To the left, the tallest building in the image is visible behind what appears to be a civic building, which is decorated with a number of striped banners. Handwritten over the ocean to the far left near the heads of two swimmers is the information "1763 W. Vernon Avenue. Aerograph Co. 674 LA.". A second sign to the extreme bottom left reads "Crescent Ice Cream". Other various signs include: "Auditorium Studio", "Films", "Hotel De Luxe", "Rooms & Apts.", "Lee's Sandwiches", "Pacific Southwest Building", "Bill's Place" and "Pacific Ice Cream".
