资源简介:
Hypothesis:
The darker an individual’s eye colour is, the more likely it
is for that individual to wear glasses, resulting in a positive correlation.
Prediction:
I predict that with darker eye colours comes the higher
likelihood of needing glasses, because darker colours are known to absorb more
U.V. light coming from the sun, therefore the individuals with darker eyes are
more prone eye damage. The damage done to the eyes would then be corrected with
glasses.
Description
of studies:
In this study, an individual’s eye colour was sampled for
the first variable (with no specific options given), and for the second
variable, the individual was asked about whether he/she is wearing glasses, and
this was conducted in the form of a yes or no question.
Methods:
For this study, our group sampled the individuals within the
lab room, by walking around and asking everyone the necessary question that
were mentioned in the description of the study.
Meta
Data:
Our data was divided into two columns representing each of
our two variables that were explored in the study. One for the question
regarding eye colour and the other for the question regarding the use of
glasses. The data for eye colour is qualitative meaning the answer is a
description not a numerical value. While the data collected for glasses use is
categorical, meaning there was two options to choose from (yes or no). The eye
colour data is represented by various colour and no specific option was given,
also the descriptive characteristics were allowed (dark brown, light brown). As
for the data for glasses use, the answers were based on whether they wear
glasses on that day or any other day and at home.
