资源简介:
The Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI) product is derived from SPOT/VEGETATION sensors data and composited every 10 days. The data cover the whole globe at 1 km resolution from 01/10/2009 to the present. The near real time production is on-going at VITO. Data packaged by 10 degree tiles or by continents (groups of tiles). NDWI is an index that uses information from the spectral regions near infrared (NIR) and shortwave infrared (SWIR). These spectral regions give information on the condition of vegetation considering the amount of water present in the vegetation and on changes in liquid water content of vegetation canopies. NDWI products also offer a means to assess soil moisture and view water bodies and may be useful for assessing flood and drought impacts. Once properly decoded, the physical NDWI values, ranging from -1 to 1, are similar to the well-known NDVI. A Product Users Manual is available.
