Boesenbergia rotunda isolate:BR_CEBAR01 Genome sequencing and assembly

Boesenbergia rotunda (L.) Mansf., commonly known as fingerroot ginger, is an important ethno-medicinal plant of South East Asia, from which key pharmacologically active metabolites have been shown to have anti-viral and anti-tumor activity, including inhibition of HIV, Dengue virus and SARS-CoV-2. This project involved genome analysis of B. rotunda together with a complete genome sequence as a hybrid assembly. Deep transcriptome data from several different cell types and DNA methylation data from the same samples were collected with the aim to provide resources for functional analysis of this important medicinal plant.
