VD 4 - Transport of German heavy goods vehicles (VD) - Annual freight transport

The table collection VD4 presents the freight transport of German goods vehicles (lorries over 3.5 t payload and tractor units) to the volume of goods as well as to the regional dispatch and reception and is part of the annual performance statistics. The number of journeys, distance travelled, weight of goods, transport performance and degree of utilisation are shown for the volume of goods in the material breakdown by type of goods. The classification of goods is carried out according to the 20 NST 2007 departments as well as combined goods positions and dangerous goods according to dangerous goods classes. The annual volume of goods is presented in detail for each federal state (country of registration of the motor vehicle) as well as for total traffic, inland traffic, international traffic, commercial traffic, own traffic and distance range. For regional goods dispatch and reception, the goods weight and transport performance are shown in the product breakdown by type of goods (NST 2007 items). The spatial classification of the places of loading and unloading takes place within Germany at the level of the administrative districts of the federal states and outside according to the EU affiliation (EU state, third country). The annual shipment and reception of goods is presented in detail for total transport, commercial transport and own-account transport. In addition, monthly key data by aggregated item of goods are shown.
