Dataset for Modeled Impacts of Chlorine Oxidation and Temperature Dependence on the Atmospheric Lifetime and Concentrations of Volatile Methyl Siloxanes

This dataset includes the concentrations of 3 volatile methyl siloxanes (VMS) produced by 5 separate configurations of the Community Earth System Model. In addition, it contains the necessary input files and instructions required to rerun the exact model cases which produced these results. These model runs were designed to predict the atmospheric concentrations and lifetimes of these VMS as well as the impact of short-lived halogens, chlorine oxidation, and the temperature dependence of reactions with hydroxyl radicals on these concentrations and lifetimes. The data from this study may inform future researchers and regulators on the environmental fate of these chemicals or allow them to reconfigure the model to answer new questions about VMS.
