VPRS 16902 Minutes, Agendas and Papers of the Board of Management

The Board of Management is the prime decision making body of the Royal Children's Hospital. Minutes with in this series record the decisions and deliberations to the Committee from the hospitals inception in 1870. The series ends in 1995 when the Royal Children's Hospital merged with the Royal Women's Hospital to form the Women's and Children's Health Care Network.Use this series in conjunction with VPRS 16796/P1 where signed Minutes can be found for the period 1986-1995, but where there are no papers or attachments. Included are minutes of reporting committees such as the Finance and Joint Medical Advisory committee. The minutes are not signed and appear to have been maintained together in the Executive Office, so may have been the working copy. They cover the period up to when the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) became a network with the Royal Women's Hospital (RWH) on 1 August 1995, but a separate RCH copy was maintained until December 1995. After that, the files were maintained and held at the RWH.This committee had a number of name changes. It was first known as the Committee of Management from the hospitals inception in 1870 to December 1989. From 1989 to 1995 it was known as the Board of Management. This series ends in August 1995 when the hospital became apart of The Women's and Children's Health Care Network.
