Leveraging Foundation Models for the Characterisation of Small RNA Properties

This repository contains the data, code, and supporting materials associated with a systematic analysis of small RNAs using RNA foundation models alongside biologically interpretable sequence and structural features. The resources enable comparative investigation of endogenous small RNAs (miRNAs and piRNAs) and synthetic or in silico–designed siRNAs, with emphasis on nucleotide composition, thermodynamic properties, and representations derived from RNA foundation models. In addition, the repository supports the RNAExplorer web application code, which provides interactive tools for analysing and visualising small RNA properties to assist small RNA research and siRNA therapeutic design.
