Growth, sporulation, dry weight, melanin, chitin and ergosterol data for Rhizopus microsporus at 30 °C and 37 °C

This record contains two Excel workbooks with raw measurements and post-hoc statistics for Rhizopus microsporus strains UM6 (wild type) and UM120.2/UM120.5 (choC mutants). Data provides: Phenotypic assays (growth, sporulation, biomass): Sheets: “30 °C Growth”, "30ºC Growth Congo Red" and “37 °C Growth” (colony diameter in cm, Days 1–5); “30 °C Sporulation” and “37 °C Sporulation” (spores/cm³, Days 3 and 5); and “30 °C Dry Weight” (mycelial dry weight in mg, Days 1–7; measured at 30 °C only). Three replicate measurements are provided per strain and time point. Companion “Tukey’s test …” sheets report mean differences, 95% CIs, significance, and adjusted P values. Cell-wall & membrane components (melanin, chitin, and ergosterol): Sheets: “Melanin Quantification” (absorbance at 405 nm; n=3 per strain), “Chitin Quantification” (Mean Staining Index; n=3 per strain), and “Ergosterol Quantification” (ergosterol content, %; n=4 per strain).
