资源简介:
Pollen and macrofloral analyses were conducted on numerous samples collected both
inside and outside a shallow depression at the Zevon II site (42PI275), located near Circleville,
Utah. These analyses focused on identifying plants that might have been processed by the
Late Archaic to Early Formative or Fremont occupants of this site. In addition, the pollen record
provides evidence of local vegetation at the time of occupation. Two human teeth found inside
this depression were examined to recover phytoliths and starches that might identify plants that
were included in the diet. Protein residue analysis was conducted on a single flaked lithic found
outside this depression to identify animals that might have been processed using this tool.
