This dataset supports the study on productivity challenges in the software industry by analyzing discussions from two communities on the Stack Exchange platform: Software Engineering and Product Manager. It comprises qualitative data collected through a gray literature review, focusing on identifying factors that affect productivity, their impacts on professionals, and strategies employed to address these challenges. Key insights from the dataset include: 21 identified factors influencing productivity, such as time management, adoption of new technologies, challenges in measuring productivity, and context switching. 17 documented impacts on professionals, including stress, demotivation, and perceived productivity variation. A range of proposed strategies, from task reorganization to mental reframing, showcasing how professionals balance technical and human-centric solutions.
