Catch cropping is a widely used strategy in arable farming to protect the soil from erosion, to promote nutrient availability for subsequent crops and also to reduce leaching in times of climate change. The selection of the variety should also be adapted accordingly to the location. For this purpose, the influence of catch crop treatments (without catch crop, clover, TerraLife mixture) on the following crop (maize) with regard to microbial phosphorus mobilization in the rhizosphere, arbuscular mycorrhization and phosphorus availability in the soil was investigated in the long term field trial in Asendorf in the humus-consuming crop rotation in the 2021/2022 growing season.
