Exotic weeds and fluctuating microclimate can constrain native plant regeneration in urban forest restoration

We studied two indicators of ecological restoration success in temperate rainforests: native tree regeneration and epiphyte colonization. Our analyses, including structural equation modeling using R, identified the biotic and abiotic conditions that constrain colonization by these late successional plant groups.
