The metatranscriptomic analysis of soil co-contaminated with hydrocarbons and heavy metals subjected to phytoremediation supported with bioaugmentation and biostimulation

We analyzed metatranscriptomes of a soil historically contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons and heavy metals (Zn, Cd and Cu) that was subjected to a phytoremediation process using Zea mays. During the phytoremediation the new approach for the improvement of this process by the addition of the PGPR Pseudomonas qingdaonensis ZCR6 strain and meat and bone meal into the soil was tested.
