Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation at Greenfields, Chivers Road, Stondon Massey, Essex, November 2021

This collection comprises text, image, spreadsheet and CAD data from an Archaeological Evaluation at Greenfields, Chivers Road, Stondon Massey, Essex. The work was undertaken by Archaeology South-East in November 2021. Two trenches were evaluated and measured 15 metres by 1.7 metres. A NW/SE aligned post-medieval ditch was found in Trench 1, along with an ENE/WSW aligned ditch of posited similar date. It seems likely that these are contemporary. A modern made-ground deposit was also recorded and believed to be part of the construction of the existing site. No remains earlier than the 19th century were identified. A low incidence a negligible complexity of post-medieval remains was encountered.
