This project comprises shotgun metagenomic sequencing data from 30 paired surface water and surficial sediment samples collected along a representative rural-urban land-use gradient in the Daqing River basin, Northern China. The primary goal of this study is to characterize the distribution, diversity, and genetic mobility of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), metal resistance genes (MRGs), and virulence factors (VFs) across the water-sediment interface. By utilizing metagenomic assembly and network analysis, this project aims to resolve the physical genetic linkage between risk genes and mobile genetic elements (MGEs). The resulting dataset provides critical insights into how urbanization and sediment reservoirs drive the assembly of multi-trait risk configurations in riverine ecosystems.
