资源简介:
Background: This literature review synthesizes contemporary research on the bidirectional relationship between aesthetic interventions and psychological well-being, with a specific focus on the emerging field of neurocosmetics and their potential as an adjunctive strategy for mood regulation. The review defines the intricate neuroimmunoendocrine pathways of the skin-brain axis and details how both psychological and aesthetic interventions can modulate this system. Methods: Drawing from recent clinical studies and psychophysiological research, we explore three primary pathways of influence: (1) the direct biochemical modulation of neuroreceptors and neuropeptides by neurocosmetic ingredients, (2) the psychological impact of self-perception and ritualistic self-care, and (3) the powerful placebo effects demonstrated in clinical settings. Results: The review also critically analyzes the limitations of current research, including the prevalence of small-scale studies and the ethical challenges posed by psychiatric comorbidities such as Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) and the influence of social media. Conclusions: We conclude that while aesthetic interventions offer promising, evidence-based avenues for supporting mental well-being, the industry's future legitimacy and positive impact hinge on a commitment to rigorous scientific validation, transparent communication, and an integrated, ethically grounded model of patient care. notReviewed other
