Native and PEGylated silk nanoparticles have been developed and designed for lysosomotropic drug delivery that they ultimately traffic into lysosomes, where the low pH and lysosomal enzymes trigger payload release. Our aim was therefore to investigate degradation behaviour of native and PEGylated silk nanoparticles in protease enzymes (protease XIV and α-chymotrypsin), a cysteine protease (papain) and ex-vivo enzymes from lysosomes. All datasets for each figure provided in separate zipped folders. All measurements, equipment and software used in this study are detailed in the Readme file provided.
