Biogeographical regions

Biogeographic regions are a data set used as official delimitations for the Emerald Network under the Bern Convention (Convention on the Protection of Europe’s Species and Housing Areas) and the Habitat Directive of the European Union (92/43/EEC). The dataset is basically Pan-European and is managed by the European Environment Agency (EEA). Through the Norwegian pilot project for Emerald Network, Norway’s share of the Biogeographic Regions was revised.
