Restoring Habitat for Migratory and Threatened Species in the Peel-Yalgorup System - Stage 1

The Ramsar listed Peel-Yalgorup System of 26,530 hectares lies within the South-west Australian global biodiversity hotspot. This project protects and restores habitat for 29 migratory birds (listed on multiple international agreements), six EPBC listed threatened flora and fauna, and three EPBC listed threatened ecological communities. On-ground recovery actions (weed control, fencing to stop illegal vehicle access, restoration planting, and refurbishing visitor interpretation structures) will address threatening processes in reserves. This project builds on previous Green Army teams' work and expands to new reserves having higher conservation value (Yalgorup, Lake Mealup, Lake McLarty, Kooljerrenup).
