Twelve dye metabolizing bacteria were isolated from effluents of Master Textile Mill situated at Lahore, Pakistan. Bacteria were isolated using enrichment culture technique followed by serial dilutions of enriched cultures. The disperse blue dye was added as the sole carbon source in minimal salt medium for isolation of these bacteria. DNA form the individual isolates was extracted and mixed to create a consortium. The consortium was subjected to 16S rRNA metagenome sequencing and whole genome shotgun sequencing.
