Danish Gallup Omnibus Data 1980, Omnibus no. 02

Danish Gallup Omnibus Data, 1980 comprises 22 omnibus surveys carried out by the Danish Gallup Institute in 1980. # #Each survey contains a number of demographic variables common to all the surveys of that year, as well as a number of questions dealing with topical events. # #The questions common to all 1980 omnibuses are: #The respondent's housing conditions and ownership of the dwelling as well as geographical location and degree of urbanization; the respondent's sex, age and marital status; the respondent's educa- tion, occupational status and gross income; gross household in- come; the bread-winner's education, occupational status and form of payment; number of children (persons under 15) and age of the children; number of adults (persons aged 15 or more); the respon- dent's status in the household; the spouse's occupational status; social group; party preference; whether the respondent voted at the general election in 1979; whether the household possesses a car, a colour TV set or a washing machine; the respondent's reading habits regarding newspapers, weeklies, monthlies, etc.; and whether the respondent smoked various forms of tobacco the day before the interview. # #The special questions in this omnibus deal with the following issues: #Expectations of price levels, of Denmark's economic situation, and of private standards of living in 1980; assessment of post-war Scandinavian Social Democratic societies versus the societies developed east of the Iron Curtain; assessment of co-operation within the EC versus co-operation in Scandinavia; and assessment of Danish security policy co-operation within NATO, within the Warsaw Pact, or within a neutral Scnadinavian Bloc
