NRS-19436 | Minutes [State Pollution Control Commission]

This series consists of files containing minutes of meetings from the State Pollution Control Commission (SPCC). Each file relates to a single meeting and contains the agenda for that meeting and the submissions to the Commission for each agenda item. A copy of the minutes from the previous meeting as well as additional reports and documents related to the submissions are included on each file. Some files also contain the original handwritten draft minutes from the meeting and many have had a typed copy of the minutes for that meeting added to the file.The minutes document the SPCC's receipt and endorsement of reports regarding environmental monitoring, regulation and policy. They also outline discussions regarding submissions to the Commission to promote a clean environment and the Commission's assessment of inquiries into potential environmental risks from proposed developments. Also contained within the minutes are the Commission's assessment and approval of contracts for studies into environmental impacts and a record of the Commission's receipt and review of reports from prosecutions under the pollution control acts. Several annual reports from the SPCC are also included in this series.The series is arranged chronologically, in file number order. The early files, dating between 1971 and 1977, appear to have been captured into the SPCC filing system in 1977. From this time onwards the minutes were routinely registered into the system.
