The dataset contains global daily maps of anthropogenic NOx emission estimates over the land areas from 2019 to 2022. The dataset have been generated in the frame of the World Emission project funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) (https://www.world-emission.com, https://app.world-emission.com/). These daily maps have a 1.27°×2.5° horizontal resolution and correspond to 10-day averages (on 10-day moving windows). They are derived from an atmospheric transport and chemistry inverse modeling framework assimilating observations from TROPOMI NO2 observations, with the global chemistry transport model LMDZ-INCA. A description of the inversion methodology can be found in the ALGORITHM THEORICAL BASIS DOCUMENT (ATBD) of the ESA World Emission project: https://app.world-emission.com/app/documents/Algorithm-theoretical-document.pdf?productId. This project aims to provide an enhanced global and regional emission monitoring service for greenhouse gases and air pollutant species by developing top-down (atmospheric inversion) emission estimates based on satellite observations.
