Volume of per-capita food waste in the United Kingdom by sector 2015-2018

Households in the United Kingdom wasted approximately 77 kilogram of food per-capita in 2015, excluding inedible parts. The supply chain produced 29 kilogram of food waste per-capita in 2015, which consisted of roughly 14 kilograms from manufacturing, 12 kilograms from hospitality and food services, and four kilograms from retail. In 2018, the food waste of households was slightly reduced to approximately 69 kilogram. The amount of food waste in the supply chain was also reduced from roughly 29 kilogram in 2015 to roughly 28 kilogram per-capita in 2018.
