This dataset is structured around the major and sub-category hierarchies of the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry, integrating SKU counts, sales revenue and sales density to provide systematic data support for product planning, operational optimization and daily business management.
In terms of product selection strategies, the relationship between SKU scale and sales revenue included in the dataset can help enterprises make well-founded decisions when launching new products or adjusting their product mixes. For a sub-category with high sales revenue but insufficient SKU count, relevant SKUs can be appropriately expanded based on the category's performance to enrich product selection options; conversely, for categories with low sales revenue but occupying a large number of SKUs, SKU reduction or structural optimization can be carried out using the sales density metric, thereby improving overall category efficiency.
For inventory management, the dataset can be used to implement tiered inventory management based on the sales performance of each category. For products with high sales revenue or high sales density, sufficient inventory should be maintained to avoid losses caused by stockouts; for SKUs with poor sales performance or redundant product structures, inventory control measures can be adopted to reduce capital tie-up and improve warehouse turnover efficiency.
