Bacteria DNA sequencing in biofilm from rock pool located on the coast of the Baltic Sea, in southern Finland

Here, our aim is to unravel key factors affecting biodiversity of three microbial groups using a dataset collected from 101 rock pools on ten islands on the coast of the Baltic Sea. The studied microbial groups comprise diatoms (i.e., unicellular algae), cyanobacteria, and heterotrophic bacteria, groups of which have vital roles in ecosystems as primary producers and decomposers.
