Aging is associated with altered gene expression and dysregulation of non-coding RNAs, including repetitive element transcripts. The purpose of this study was to characterize age- and exercise-related differences in gene and repetitive element expression in humans using RNA-seq. Total (ribo-depleted) RNA isolated and purified from flash-frozen human peripheral blood mononuclear cells of young, older and older habitually exercising adults.
