IRR Perimeters of the Coastal Rivers and Watercourses of Guyana, 2019 (WFS Service)

WFS Service – Geographical data systems produced by the GIS Land Flood Directive on the island of Cayenne (TRI) and mapping for reporting purposes for the European Flood Directive. The European Directive 2007/60/EC of 23 October 2007 on the assessment and management of flood risks (OJ L 288, 06-11-2007, p. 27) influences the flood prevention strategy in Europe. It requires the production of a flood risk management plan which aims to reduce the negative consequences of flooding on human health, the environment, cultural heritage and economic activity. The objectives and requirements for implementation are given by the Law of 12 July 2010 on the National Commitment for the Environment (LENE) and the Decree of 2 March 2011. In this context, the primary objective of mapping flood surfaces and flood risks for IRRs is to contribute, by homogenous and objectifying knowledge of the exposure of flood issues, to the development of Flood Risk Management Plans (PGRIs). This series of data is used to produce the flood surface maps and the flood risk map, which respectively reproduce the flood aleas and the stakes exposed to an appropriate scale. Their objective is to provide quantitative e-evaluations to more finely assess the vulne-rabilite of a territory for the three levels of flood probabilitis (strong, medium, low).
