Data for "Constraining the model-based uncertainties of asteroseismic magnetic field measurements in red giants" by Buchele et al. 2026

This repository contains data that accompanies the paper “Constraining the model-based uncertainties of asteroseismic magnetic field measurements in red giants” by Buchele et al. in 2026. This work used the r24.08.1 version of MESA and the x86_64-linux-24.7.1 version of the MESA SDK on a machine running Debian 12. We also used GYRE version 7.2.1 which comes bundled with the MESA version we used. This repository contains two directories: source - contains all the code necessary to reproduce the results of the paper including MESA files to generate both grids, analysis scripts to construct and fit the synthetic stars, and a Jupyter notebook to reproduce all figures except Figs 6 and 7 which rely on data from other publications. sobol_grid - contains the model parameters for all models in the Sobol grid a python script that can be adapted to fit observed stars using this grid. Each directory contains an additional README file which provides more detail on the individual contents.
