These images are a sample of a larger set of images taken during a laboratory study investigating the effect of salinity on frazil particles and flocs evolution. Frazil and flocs were generated in a frazil tank at the University of Alberta cold room facility. Images of suspended frazil/flocs were taken using cross-polarized light.
