U.unicinctus is a valuable model species for research in the field of evolution and phylogeny because of its important evolutionary position that indicates the transition from aquatic organisms to terrestrial organisms. However, knowledge of the developmental molecular mechanism of U. unicinctus is limited. The goal of this study was to increase understanding of gene expression during embryonic development.
