The data were used in the paper "Modeling Flocculation Processes of Cohesive Sediment Through Moment Methodology" which was submitted to "<em>Water Resources Research</em>". In this paper, a new mechanistic Lagrangian-type flocculation dynamic model was proposed by solving the population balance equation with moment methodology and similarity transformation, and the influence of particles' surface heterogeneities (<em>F</em><sub>2a</sub>) was incorporated. Furthermore, the roles of shear rate, sediment concentration, particle size and surface heterogeneity were investigated theoretically.
