Data underlying the controlled study included in Chapter 2 of the PhD thesis "Flavobacteria across Time and Scale: Designing for Human-Microbe Engagement" by Clarice Risseeuw

This dataset contains two Python scripts for analysing images of iridescent Flavobacteria (<em>Cellulophaga lytica</em>), along with the resulting analytical outputs. These marine bacteria produce iridescent colourations that change over time and in response to environmental stimuli. To investigate their living aesthetics in relation to humidity, we conducted a controlled study using replicate samples cultivated at three relative humidity levels. Images of the colonies were captured from four different viewing angles and at three time points during the experiment (day 3, day 5, and day 7). The Python scripts digitally analysed these images to derive insights into colony expansion rate, texture, and iridescent colour.
