The conversion of DHEAS into DHEA by steroid sulfatase (STS) may contribute to sustained intracrine androgen synthesis. Here, we determine the contribution of STS to treatment resistance and explore the potential of targeting STS using novel inhibitors to overcome resistance in prostate cancer. VCaP cells were seeded in 60mm dishes and treated overnight with DMSO or 5 µM SI1 or SI-2 for a total of 3 samples. RNA was isolated using Trizol.
