We initiated a three-year study to determine the production of Atlantic salmon Sa/mo salar smolts stocked as fry in the Rock River, Wardsboro Branch, and Utley Brook, tributaries of the West River, Vermont. Smelts were collected with net weirs in 1994 and counting fences in 1995 on the lower reaches of three tributaries and mark-recapture was used to estimate smolt population size. Grant no. NA46FI0111
