Gunjan Bhayani, Group 1 The average height of plant species in the grassland area at York University, Keele Campus was measured by setting up 1m X 1m quadrat on the ground. A transect was set in the grassland area between pond and grassland. A quadrat was set at every 10 m interval along the transect. The average height (inch) of plant species present in the quadrat and the average coverage (%) of each plant species in the quadrat was measured and recorded. Plant species present in each quadrat was also recorded. Average height of plant species was measured in inches using a measuring tape. Average coverage was an estimate of what percentage of different plant species covered the quadrat. The same was done in the area between pond and road. There were 12 replicates performed in total in which six quadrats were used in the area between pond and grassland, and six quadrats were used in the area between pond and road. The data was continuous.
