Adult Health Barometer 2015 (BSA-2015)

The Adult Health Barometer (BSA) is a survey with the general aim of improving our knowledge of the health and health behaviors of the Caledonian population aged 18 to 60.

This dataset presents the results of the second edition which was carried out, in 2015, by the Agence sanitaire et sociale de Nouvelle-Calédonie (ASS-NC).The survey took place throughout the territory among a representative sample of the Caledonian population (1,144 people). The questionnaire, carried out face-to-face by a nurse over a period of approximately one hour, is made up of a set of questions organized into modules:

socio-demographics and housing
health knowledge
health status
access to care
hygiene and oral health
alimentation
physical activity
addictions
sexual health

As the sample sizes for the Northern provinces and Loyalty Islands were over-represented in relation to their actual distribution, the raw sample is not representative of the population aged 18-60 in New Caledonia. An adjustment of the statistical weight of individuals was therefore carried out by margin calibration (province crossed with gender, crossed with age) based on data from the latest population census in 2014 (carried out by ISEE). Statistical analyses, carried out on the basis of this dataset, must therefore obligatorily take into account, in all calculations, the weights attributed to each individual ("Pond" column).
